This site has a very specific layout since it is basically trying to emulate a database. There are three major page types.

Page Types

GM Part Names These are the so-called "Nomenclature" associated with a record in the GM Parts and Accesssories (P&A) manual. These are tricky, since they change and are different, even for extremely similar Applications which may even include the same Parts!

The most common action with these pages is likely to be consolidation. That is, there may be a page called "HOSE ASSEMBLY, Fuel Tank Filling" and another called "HOSE ASSY, Fuel Tank Filler Neck," those pages should probably be combined.

These pages contain belong to Groups and contain links to GM Parts.

↳ GM Parts

These are the numeric part numbers assigned by General Motors. At this level, the specific attributes of the part are listed, such as thread pitch, size, color, etc. That way, the part number can be referenced by multiple Vendor Parts and Applications without any duplication of the attributes.

↳ Vendor Parts

These are parts that are offered for sale, or manufactured and offered for sale by a commercial vendor.

The name of these pages MUST include the vendor name in the format

PARTNUMBER (Vendor Name)

to avoid conflict since many vendors might use the same part number, even for different parts!
